International Day of Trans Memory

International Day of Trans Memory

The International Day of Transsexual Memory, in English Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which is celebrated annually on November 20, is a day dedicated to the memory of those people who have been killed victims of transphobia, hatred and fear of trans people, as well as to remember the ongoing violence suffered by the trans community. The purpose of the event is to give face and voice to those victims of transphobic violence, as well as to make visible the collective’s demand to live a life free of violence and be able to exercise their rights as the rest of the citizens.

On the occasion of this day, today the Trans Memory Day exhibition opens in the Hall of the Student’s House, which will remain open to the public until next Friday, November 23. In addition, the social club Diversa has provided an information desk on the main facade of La Casa del Alumno to raise awareness and inform the university community.

Within the framework of the International Day of Trans Memory, there will be the round table Ser trans in 2018, organized by Diversa UPV in the Spontaneous Generation Room on Thursday 22nd at 5:30 p.m.
