Drawing Workshop

Next Thursday, April 25th, a drawing workshop led by the Valencian artist Ós Gat will be held at the Student Recreation Center. The workshop will delve into topics such as methodology, expressiveness, and creativity in drawing.

It will take place in the workshop room, located on the first floor of our building, and it will be free of charge.

The workshop was a complete success; shortly after announcing it, all available spots were filled, requiring us to select only the first 25 registered students. During the workshop, the illustrator Ós Gat explained her methodology and creative process to the attendees. Then, we moved on to the practical part where the students created a drawing based on the artist’s instructions.

 
 
 
 
 

 

CDTM Event

On Thursday, March 21st, the presentation event for the new headquarters of the CDTM (Center for Digital Technology and Management) in Valencia was held at the Ximo Mora room of the Student Recreation Center. The CDTM is an educational program focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. It consists of 45 credits, with collaboration from both UPV and UV, and is endorsed by numerous international universities. After being established in Germany for over 25 years, it will open its first branch outside of that country in Valencia.

The event saw broad participation and included a networking session at the end for attendees and speakers to connect and share ideas.

UPV-IKEA Challenge

On Friday, March 7th, the UPV-IKEA Challenge took place in the Ximo Mora room of the Student Recreation Center. The event was a hackathon-style activity that challenged participating students to design homes, common spaces, and businesses with the goal of creating a positive and sustainable impact on communities.

The activity had a wide participation from UPV students, with more than 50 students attending.

At the end of the event, prizes were awarded by IKEA to the best students for their effort and interest in the activity.

Fallas Celebration at UPV

On Monday, March 11th, the Fallas were celebrated at the Student Recreation Center. At 10:00 in the morning, hot chocolate with pumpkin fritters was served to all the students who came to the hall of the building.

Later, at 12:00 noon, a mascletá was fired in front of the athletics track. The Falleras Mayores de Valencia and members of the falla UPV  were present.

 

FSUPV Team Day

Last Friday at the Student Recreation Center, an event organized by the spontaneous generation group FSUPV Team took place, focused on automotive competitions in the Formula Student category.

During the event, they conducted the Concept Reveal of their latest prototype, the FSUPV-11, aiming to showcase to sponsors and university personalities the development of the new prototype, the team’s results in past competitions, as well as the objectives they are setting for the future.

The event concluded with a catering service to allow new members and companies to connect with each other and to gain firsthand insight into our concerns and goals.

Hackathon Analytical Challenge – Torrecid

On Thursday, February 22nd, the Analytical Challenge Torrecid Hackathon was held in the Ximo Mora room at the Student Recreation Center, organized by the LideraT UPV group and sponsored by the multinational company Torrecid.

During the event, the challenge of creating a comprehensive plan for the digital transformation of a company in the ceramic sector was posed. Participants attempted to provide solutions in small groups to compete for victory while acquiring knowledge and gaining new experiences.

The hackathon was a real success and had a high level of participation.

EMC Music Sessions

Last Friday, February 16th, the Music Sessions organized by the EMC (Contemporary Music Ensemble of the UPV) were held on the ground floor of the Student Recreation Center, a group of Spontaneous Generation focused on current music and the organization of various events and activities around this theme.

These sessions are small concerts aimed at serving as a showcase for emerging musical artists from the university environment to make themselves known.

Last Friday, the attending audience had the opportunity to enjoy several artists who performed different pieces. On one hand, Sandra Sánchez performed solo, and on the other hand, the Valencian band Groelandia.
