Workshop Makers-UPV: 8-Bit Mix Tape

The workshop held on December 2 and 16 was taught by students who are members of MakersUPV and was of free assistance for the whole university community.

It was about 8-Bit Mixtape which is a very simple sound generator built around the Arduino-compatible ATtiny microcontroller.

After soldering a few components, it was possible to start programming different sounds and melodies.

The workshop was held in the Student House and MakersUPV provided all the necessary material for the realization of it.

After the draw, in the Boardroom of the Student House, the students with a sweatshirt from the Polytechnic University of Valencia are:

Kirk Douglas Centennial Tribute

From La Casa del Alumno we want to pay homage to the actor Kirk Douglas, because the next day December 9th will be 100 years old.

For this purpose a display case will be mounted on the ground floor of the Student House, with all the material in the UPV Library on it, decorated with posters and photos of the actor.
It is intended primarily to render affection to the actor, and above all to serve the students to introduce themselves and to know the classic cinema.

Fallas heritage of humanity

The Fallas are unique. A dynamic party with Mediterranean flavor that implies miles of Valencians and supposes a source of collective creativity that maintains alive Valencian knowledge and practices. During a few days in March, this festival turns Valencian cities and art museums to celebrate the arrival of spring. The music, the gunpowder, the traditional clothing, the sociability of its people … are just some of the ingredients that make this party something unique. In fact, its aesthetic values and ritual practices have made it the sea and festival candidate for the title of Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

From the Casa del Alumno we have celebrated this event with the launch of a trench in front of our facilities.

International Day of the Fight against AIDS 2016

Under the motto “Let’s Talk About AIDS, Let’s Talk About Sexually Transmitted Infections and Actions”: use condoms, AIDS testing.

The Student House The UPV will carry out different activities to inform the university community about the risks and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

On December 30th, he held a workshop on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, aimed at students at the UPV at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

From 28 November to 2 December, an exhibition on “Sexually Transmitted Infections” with information on each of these infections, as well as risks and treatments, is distributed on the ground floor of the Student House.

On December 1st there will be various activities organized by the Red Cross in the Agora.

Also volunteering with the “Healthy Carret” campaign, in which promotional and informative material is distributed. Students who approach the “Healthy Carret”, participate in the drawing of four sweatshirts of the UPV. The schedule of the “Healthy Carret” will be from 09:00 to 21:00 hours.

Do not know who you expose when you have unprotected sex? With the information that the volunteers will distribute, they will solve those doubts. Do not cut yourself! Come to the “Healthy Carret” and ask!
