Colloquium “Scientific of the UPV”
Within the framework of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the “Scientific of the UPV” Colloquium was held at the Casa del Alumno, which included the participation of the UPV’s teachers and researchers: Luz Pérez, María Cambra, Sofía Estellés and Llanos Cuenca.
The talk “The world needs all kinds of minds” that Temple Gradin gave in TED (2010) and the short news “More women in science” (TV European Parliament) was opened, thus opening the dialogue between the participants and the audience.

Hyperloop UPV: Designing the future of transport?
Elon Musk hopes to revolutionise public transport with Hyperloop – a system capable of speeds of more than 1200 kilometres per hour with zero emissions.
Musk’s company Space X is running a student competition to advance the technology.
Hyperloop UPV, a team from the Politechnical University of Valencia in Spain, are working round the clock testing all the key components of their pod, which they hope will propel them to victory.

Photo exhibition “Inspire Change” – Manos Unidas
Yesterday, January 25, we inaugurated in the Hall of the Casa de l’Alumne the photo exhibition “Inspira el Cambio”, organized by the NGO Manos Unidas Valencia. It portrays stories of people from all over the world who take measures to care for our planet and the people who live in it, through sustainable models of consumption and production of food and energy.

10th NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ASSOCIATIONS OF STUDENTS AND CHINESE RESEARCHERS OF SPAIN
Last weekend of November 25 and 26 the 10th National Assembly of Student Associations and Chinese Researchers of Spain was held at the Casa del Alumno.
Organized by the Association of Chinese Students and Researchers in Valencia, and with the collaboration of the Vice-rectorate of Students, Culture and Sports, as well as the Embassy of China in Madrid.
More than 90 students from 22 universities participated in the assembly.
It was attended by the Head of Educational Affairs: Ms. Ms. Zhong Xiwei of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Madrid.
