World-wide Day of the Fight Against the AIDS

This year in the house of the student celebrate again the day of the Sida.
They will make different activities among the days 25 and 29 November. Among them the fast proof of the HIV or informative talks on habits of life healthier.
Besides the Carret Healthy will deliver material pormotional by all the university.

“Por la Sonrisa de un Niño” (By the Smile of a Child)

Thursday 13 of November took place the presentation of the beginings of PSE(Por La Sonrisa ed un Niño),including a breaf explanation about Cambodia’s history. Afterwards they explained the goals and different programs they offer, and also the ones available in summer, such as Program of School Continuity. Besides they attended volunteers to count his own experience and answer to any question of the assistants.

Blood Donor Day

Next Wednesday 20 November as past years, the UPV and the Centre of Transfusion of the Valencian Community would like to invite all the university community to participate in blood donation.
This year like special note, they would be with the collaboration of the National Organisation of Transplantes (ONT) and the Foundation José Careers, an informative campaign and catchment of donors of osseous marrow.

It will include the participation of 19 students of the Stock exchange of Volunteering UPV that will inform about the importance of blood donation to their fellow students and will resolve the doubts that can arise during the day.

The schedule of donation will be of 09:30 to 20:00 hours, in the low plant of the House of the Student.

Besides it will take place under the slogan “Dances and Dona in the event that can change you the life” a free musical event. In which they will collaborate artists like the Chilean singer Soledad Vélez, the musician Pau Rock (component of The Red Room) beside Pablo Maronda, and of the incombustibles Mueveloreina in format reduced with his project Muevelocumbia.
And to also the presence of several dj’s stood out: Law DJ, one of the maximum national exponents of the music of dance of our city will share cabin with Giorgio Bonetti, Sergio Falomir, She pricks alone, Guerrilla Xhen and Saizer.

This activity will take place from 17:00 to 20:00.

Ghana Kente Festival

Ghana Kente Festival is a cultural event wich purpouse is to acknolewdge the UPV campus community about the culture, language and traditions of the northWest of Africa.

There will be a concert, Latido Corazón de Africa, fromaed by a group of musics from Ghana. In it they combined rithms from different regions of Ghana with instruments and traditional sounds, creating rhythms of the Akan, Ga, Ewe and north rhythms of Ghana. These rhythms have influence of all the Black Africa.

The activity will take place the 14 of November in the low plant of the Student’s House.
It will give beginning at 10:00 and it will initiate with a colloquium at 10:30, besides there will be an photograph exhibition accompanying the event.

 

VI Interpoli Debate Tournament

Last weekend took place at the Student Recreation Center the VI Interpoli Debate Tournament. This is a nacional tournament that involves different clubs all around Spain, from Malaga to Madrid or even Valencia.

For the first time this year the tournament had a more dinamic aproach, in which they decided to complement the investigation about a subject with keeping the freshness of the subject by having new question each round.
This year they talked about conflicts related to Capitalism and the Environment. The debate is on fire and so is the planet.

The winning team has received 500€ prize, 300€ the second and a 150€ prize for the best public speaker.

Day of Poland in the Student Recreation Centre

On October 22, because of the XI International Exchange Week,the Office of International Exchange Programs celebrates the day of Poland on the ground floor of the Student Recreation Centre.

The day will start at 13:00 with a informative talk about studying in Poland and how to get the most out of your experience with the Erasmus. At 14:00 will be a degustation of tipical Polish food and paella, as well as being able to enjoy a liguistic exchange, music and a poster exposition with polish motives.

This event has the participation of the Polish Consulate in Valencia, the subdirectory of International Exchange of Administration Faculty and former students of Erasmus and Erasmus + Professional Practice.

 

XVI UPV Debate Tournament

On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd October , took place the XVI Debate Tournament of the UPV. In this edition, it was quite a sucess the speakers and speakers were debate around the following question: Should be state aggressively reduce the consumption of animal products to boots a sustainable food system ?
