Microengineers: Awareness Days on Rare Diseases

Today, the UPV Student Hub is hosting Microengineers, a day devoted to raising awareness of rare diseases, aimed at bringing the reality of these low-prevalence conditions closer to the university community.

Throughout the day, speakers, researchers, and people living with these conditions will share their experiences, present their lines of work, and address current challenges in the field of rare diseases. The event blends science, awareness-raising, and personal testimony to foster broader social understanding.
In addition, the sessions are being livestreamed, allowing anyone interested to follow along and take part.
With initiatives like Microengineers, UPV reaffirms its commitment to scientific outreach and to giving visibility to realities which, despite their low incidence, deserve the attention of society as a whole.

💌 Valentine’s Day at CALUM

This year at CALUM, we celebrated Valentine’s Day 2026 with two activities.

First, the DIVERSA association set up an information table for Sexual Health Day under the slogan “Spend Valentine’s Day Safely.” This included an awareness project about STIs and the distribution of condoms.

Second, CEUPV organized several activities such as “Draw Your Soulmate,” a mural where all students could draw, and “Love Notes,” a mural of heart-shaped notes where participating students confessed their feelings. They also distributed lollipops🍭.

The Student Recreation Centre hosts the NGO AIDA “Konngol Rewbe” exhibition

Today, the “Konngol Rewbe” exhibition organised by NGO AIDA was inaugurated at UPV’s Student Recreation Centre. The exhibition features a collection of artworks inspired by photographs of women from rural communities in Kolda, in southern Senegal.

A group of artists has reinterpreted these images to amplify the voices of the women portrayed and share their message with women around the world, encouraging mutual support in the pursuit of a more just and equal society.

The exhibition is on display in the first-floor lobby of the Student Recreation Centre and can be visited until 2 October, during the building’s opening hours.
