XVII Anniversary of the Student’s Recreation Centre

A meeting point at the Universitat Politècnica de València that opens its doors to the university community, this is one of the multiple definitions of La Casa del Alumno. On the day of its inauguration, on December 4, 2003, Justo Nieto, rector at that time, defined it as “a unique space in its conception and performance throughout the European Teaching Space”; What we can conclude is that the Casa del Alumno is a nerve center for the social life of the UPV. A center thought by the students for the students.

In these 17 years of life, La Casa del Alumno has hosted more than 500 activities in solidarity, training, competitions, workshops, etc. Thank you to all those that have done this possible.

Llevamos varias semanas en confinamiento y ya se ha vuelto prorrogar el estado de alarma otros 15 días. Sabemos que ésta situación todavía podría alargarse un poco más, por lo que nosotros hemos pensado en ti y queremos aconsejarte en cómo organizar tu día a día si todavía no te has adaptado o no consigues coger el ritmo.

Si todavía no te has acostumbrado a estar confinado en casa y no sabes qué hacer.. te proponemos unos consejos que te ayudarán en el día a día durante la próxima cuarentena.

No pienses en quemar el pijama una vez nos dejen salir… simplemente sigue nuestros tips prácticos y pasa unos días agradables en tu casa.

THE STUDENT RECREATION CENTRE CLOSES THE BUILDING TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL THE CLASSES RESUME

A partir del sábado, día 14 de marzo, la Casa del Alumno cierra al público el edificio, hasta que se reanuden las clases de la Universitat Politècnica de València. Al tratarse la Casa del Alumno de un espacio público, es necesario cerrarlo para minimizar el efecto del coronavirus.

En consecuencia, el edificio permanecerá cerrado hasta nueva instrucción. Quedan suspendidas todas las actividades, servicios y reservas de espacios programadas.

Los alumnos del programa Generación Espontánea, deben ponerse en contacto a través de la dirección de correo electrónico generacionespontanea@upv.es para resolver cualquier duda o también puede consultar el siguiente documento: aquí.

El acceso al edificio queda restringido al personal estrictamente autorizado (PAS, personal limpieza, personal de seguridad y Delegación de Alumnos UPV).

La Atención al Público se seguirá prestando en los horarios habituales, realizando las consultas a distancia a través de la dirección de correo electrónico casalum@upv.es en horario de lunes a viernes de 09:00 a 21:00 horas.

 La Casa del Alumno informará, a través de la página web y las redes sociales, de cualquier cambio de la situación tan pronto como suceda.

Without plastic in the UPV

Unidad de Medio Ambiente

The Universitat Politècnica de València public institution committed to the environment, that proposes minimise the huge number of waste generated, with the support of coffee shops.

The measures proposed by the Environment Unit of the UPV consist in reducing the use of plastics in university menus, because plastic releases a large amounts of toxins in the environment. Due to that fact, it takes too long to decompose and it’s the cause of several hazardous and ecologically damaging effects.

From the Student Recreation Center, we want to give our support to this environment improvement initiative, sice recycling is a good option to reduce plastic pollution on Earth, but honestly that is neither sufficient nor sustainable.
