Conference “Accompanying the Ph.D. student – what do they need?”

From the Integral Plan for Student Accompaniment (PIAE+) and the Doctoral School together with the ICE, a conference was organized for UPV doctoral students, at the request of the delegation of doctoral students.

The working session how to accompany our doctoral students and encourage their participation in the UPV? by Eloïna García (ICE Senior Technician) and Marina Alonso (PIAE+ coordinator) was held on April 8 from 16.00 to 18.00 hours in the XIMO MORA ROOM (FIRST FLOOR STUDENT RECREATION CENTRE).

Magic Game Jam

This April 4 and 5 the Video Game Club has convened the second game jam of this course at the Student Recreation Centre. During this day the participants had 48 hours to create an original video game from scratch. The teams are made up of students from different degrees of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, who gather their knowledge in common to create from music and sound effects to the entire graphic section, including of course the programming. At the end of the day, a winning team will be announced for the project with the best results. All the games can be tested in the itch.io profile of the Video Game Club (https://clubdelvideojuego.itch.io/) at the end of the activity.

   

Exhibition “Educación de Calidad. Un objetivo ilustrado”

From March 31 to April 13, the Ximo Mora room of the Student Recreation Centre will host the exhibition “Educación de Calidad. Un objetivo ilustrado”.

This exhibition shows different goals or objectives to achieve the best possible education, with topics such as equality in schools, more and better teachers, healthy facilities, etc..

As every year, the Student Recreation Centre wants to recognize and make visible the creativity of UPV students. Thus, we invite you to participate in the Student Recreation Centre XVII Painting and Photography Contest.

WORKSHOPS PICTURES

CRICUT PROMOTION

On March 22 and 23, a promotion of Cricut cutting plotters will be held on the ground floor of the Student Recreation Centre. The schedule will be from 11:00 to 14:00 hours. Students will be able to test the various models of Cricut company, by the Valencian company Ezedichi.

In addition, on March 29 and 30, there will be a workshop, with limited places, where all members of the university community will be able to learn about the different creative possibilities of the cutting plotters, and will be able to work individually. To participate in the workshop it is necessary to register in the following form:

Presentation of “Dosmilnueve Alumnas” artwork

This morning, coinciding with the International Women’s Day, the artistic work of the UPV Art Fund, which has been permanently installed in the Silent Study Room of the Student Recreation Centre, was presented.

The event was hosted by Esther Gómez, Vice Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship, Salomé Cuesta, Vice Rector for Art, Science, Technology and Society and Lea Olcina, UPV Alumni Delegate.

They have accompanied in the presentation with the author of the work and professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Javier Gayet. Also participating were Toni Colomina, Director of the UPV Art Fund and Heritage Area, and Fanny Collado, Director of the Spontaneous Generation Area, as well as the technicians of the Art Fund area.

The work consists of 30 photographs of UPV students, framed and made on Ilford Ultra Chrome paper.

 

VII UPV internal debate tournament in valencian & XIX internal debate tournament in spanish

On February 28 and March 1, the seventh edition of the UPV internal debate tournament in Valencian was held at the Student Recreation Centre, and on March 2 and 3, the nineteenth edition of the tournament in Spanish, both of which were a great success. The topics on which the participants had to debate were both Europe and the pharmaceutical industry.

If you have remained with the desire to participate do not hesitate to ask for information to the debate group of the UPV, you can receive training and advice from experts in public speaking from different professional fields.
