Promoted by the AVACOS association, a day will be organised on 24 November at the Casa del Alumno, where free HIV rapid tests will be carried out and information will be provided on the European HIV testing week, aimed at the prevention and promotion of early diagnosis of HIV in young people and informing them about healthier lifestyles.

Yesterday, 20th December, an act of recognition was held at the Casa del Alumno, by the UPV Alumni Delegation, to the students who participated as volunteers in the promotion of the blood donation campaign.
We would like to thank all those who helped in this initiative.
On Wednesday, November 16, the UPV Blood Donor Day will be held, during that day the ground floor of the Student Recreation Centre will be enabled to make a massive donation. The schedule will be from 09:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m.
The aim is to make the university community aware of the lack of blood in the blood bank and the importance of donating for times of need. Daily 650 units of blood are needed to provide service in Valencian hospitals.
All volunteers of this activity must perform a 2-hour training workshop, on Wednesday, November 9, in Room Grades 1, in the Student House, from 12:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. If you have already done the workshop in previous years it is not necessary to come, although it is recommended to update and to participate in the organization on the 16th.
The main task of the volunteers is to support the dissemination and information to donors, to promote the activity to increase the donation.
And remember that all volunteer activities, move to a summation of hours of participation in the volunteer platform to then be able to recognize credits of free configuration.

From 15 September to 7 October, the Student Recreation Center hosted the opening of the exhibition of the 5th edition of the Photography and Sculptural Heritage Workshop of the UPV.
The exhibition, curated by Ignacio Yusim, brings together a selection of photographs by the students of the workshop “Photography and Sculptural Heritage of the UPV”, which this year celebrates its fifth edition.
The purpose of this exhibition is to reflect the characteristic landscape of the university campus, where sculptures coexist in the landscaped areas.
The exhibition can be visited on the ground floor of the Student Recreation Center.
Organized by the Department of Economics and Social Sciences (DECS) of the UPV, a meeting was held from 14 to 16 September 2022 with the partners of the European project Horizon Europe. Visionary Project. The project is led by Professor Dionisio Ortiz Miranda, professor of this university.

On September 1, the «Welcome Day» organized by the Erasmus Student Network Valencia UPV took place at the Casa del Alumno, where the exchange students of the first semester were welcomed with live music and paella. Exhibition “Bajouca. A life as a support for the work”
Today, Friday, September 2, the exhibition about the Portuguese architect Joao Álvaro Rocha and his construction projects of social housing was inaugurated in the exhibition hall of the Casa del Alumno, and in particular an exhibition of the Barrio Saudáveis project, in Porto financed by a European development programme.
The exhibition is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and is one of the exhibitions chosen in the contest PC_ACTS 2022 of the Vice-Rectorate for Art, Science, Technology and Society
The exhibition has reproductions of the architect’s original drawings, drawings made by neighbors and collaborators; original drawings of the architect; audiovisual reproductions of the architect’s conversations explaining the work that was made in 2001 and current videos recorded during the last year of the neighbors showing their homes and speaking from the user’s point of view of their experiences.

In the Student Recreation Center
Yesterday, a concert of music from Hamilton, the famous musical, was held in the Hall of the Alumni House. This concert was performed by the UPV Contemporary Music Ensemble.
Do you know what waste should be deposited in the brown garbage can? How much organic waste do you think university activities generate? Coinciding with the progressive appearance of the brown garbage cans on the Vera campus of the UPV, the university has organized an information campaign on these and other issues related to organic waste.
The campaign will take place during the month of June and all members of the university community will be able to test their knowledge and get some of the prizes that will be distributed at the information points. Today, June 8, find one of these points on the first floor of the Student Recreation Centre from 10:30 to 14:30.
