Exhibition “Art and Activism”

CARTEL-ACTIVISMO-A2Today May 27 the exhibition “Art and Activism” was inaugurated on the second floor of the Student House, curated by Mau Monleón, in which students participate in the Master Artistic Production, Faculty of Fine Arts.

One way to warn about this sexism has been confronting it in the title of the exhibition ART AND ACTIVISM own / 01 STUDENT HOUSE, where a total of 14 students of the Master of Fine Arts, including 9 women are involved. If we turn to the statistics on the number of women studying in Spanish universities, we found that these exceed 54.1% of the total graduates to men in the teachings of Master and 54.3% in the teachings of Grado.

Al From this premise, the exhibition aims to draw attention to the invisibility of women in Spanish universities (especially among students), and the need to constantly provide a gender perspective in each action performed inside and outside of it, for change and equal opportunities for women and men.

The exhibition presents a selection of projects that have taken place in the last four months in subjects of the Master in artistic production, so the formats in this exhibition range from sculpture, photography, poster, sticker, the video, installation and performance. It is intended to “make visible” various problems that affect us tod @ s, where he has worked freely from the poetic and personal ethics of each student.
