On April 27 and 28, the company PowerCo organizes at the Student Recreation Centre – CALUM of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) a new edition of its hackathon framed within the PowerCo–UPV Chair, together with the ETSII, an initiative that seeks to connect university talent with the real challenges of the energy industry.
On this occasion, the challenge is presented as a practical case of improving production indicators (KPIs) of an industrial plant, through the application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, and statistical data analysis. The teams will have to design strategies to reduce losses, optimize downtime, and improve the quality of the production process, finally proposing a sustainable improvement plan with an estimation of investment and return.
Mentors from PowerCo will accompany the participants during the different phases of the project: definition of the problem, measurement of inefficiencies, data analysis, improvement proposal, and control of results.
