Yesterday, an clothing exchange event was held on the ground floor of the Student Recreation Center, organized by Mou-te, a Spontaneous Generation group dedicated to raising awareness and sensitizing the university community about sustainability by organizing various workshops and activities.
The purpose of this clothing exchange was to reduce the significant impact that the fashion industry has on our planet and to propose an ecological and environmentally friendly alternative.
During the event, a manifest was read explaining the purpose of the clothing exchange, and various games focused on the theme of the textile industry and the environment were conducted.
From today until December 18, you can visit the commemorative exhibition marking the 20 years of the Student Recreation Center. Inside, you will discover posters and photographs showcasing various events and activities that have taken place in the building over the course of two decades. Additionally, the exhibition features emblematic items and outstanding artworks from the artistic creation contests held at the Student Recreation Center.
The exhibition will be open from 10:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, in the Ximo Mora hall.
On November 17th and 18th, gaming and computer enthusiasts gathered at the Ximo Mora room of the Student Recreation Center to celebrate the Retro GameJam organized by the Video Game Club and the ACM UPV student association.
In just 2 days, participants showcased their talent by creating video games from scratch and enjoying the learning experience.
On the next Wednesday, November 22nd, the Ground Floor of the Student Recreation Center will host the Blood Donor Day, a charitable event organized in collaboration with the Centre de Transfusió de la Comunitat Valenciana. Throughout the day, doors will be open for uninterrupted blood donations from 09:00 to 20:00.
The main purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness among the university community about the shortage of blood in blood banks and underscore the importance of donation to meet critical needs. Currently, 650 units of blood are needed daily to ensure adequate service in Valencia’s hospitals. Your participation can make a difference and save lives. Join us in donating and contributing to this cause!
The event was a success, with a massive turnout of individuals willing to altruistically donate blood, significantly contributing to the cause of saving lives. Blood, a vital resource, is indispensable for the hospitals in the Valencian Community, which rely daily on the generosity of compassionate individuals to keep their reserves stocked, ensuring they are available for those in need of medical assistance.
On the other hand, a statement of gratitude has been issued by the Student Recreation Center to the university community for their solidarity and involvement yesterday:
